I moved to… Birmingham?

It’s been a while…

As the title may suggest, I have moved to Birmingham. Goodbye Edinburgh!

It’s not a place I ever thought I would live; It’s not a place I thought I wouldn’t live, I simply never thought of it. Basically, Ben got a good job down here, so after he was finished with his probation period I followed him.

So far, I’m finding it odd. I was born in Scotland, and bar a 2.5-year excursion to Wales when I was 5, I have always lived in Scotland. I just assumed I always would. The weather doesn’t feel too different, the people are just as nice (even if I have to ask them to repeat themselves sometimes) and the shopping is just great.

The oddest thing is being unemployed. I did work for my old job remotely for just short of 3 months until they could find my replacement, but I am now officially unemployed.  The longest I have ever been without a job is 2 weeks, I’m a little past that now and it feels weird. So obviously I thought to myself “What can I do to keep myself sane whilst I job hunt? I’ll start blogging again!” – So here I am. Hey, hello!

I actually planned on re-starting to blog last year, I even moved from Blogger to WordPress, bought myself a nice theme and tweaked it with my new branding but then never did anything. Is “life just got in the way” an acceptable excuse? No?

Better late than never though I guess! So what can you expect from me? Not much. I’m going to aim for 1 post a week, it seems doable but leaves me with room to do more if inspiration strikes. As mentioned, I’m unemployed AF, so don’t expect hauls or countless new make-up reviews, but aimless rambling and photographs will be in abundance.

In the meantime, does anyone have any recommendations for places to go/things to see in Birmingham? I get lost just looking for the corner shop, so I need to do a bit of exploration!
